“Igualtats Connectades (Equality Connected)” is a pioneering project that raises intersectional approach as applied in local public policies about non-discrimination. With this pilot project we want to advance in the implementation of intersectionality, since it is a perspective that has been theorized but there is little experience with implementing it in specific policies.

The project was presented to the leading group in January 2018 and is already underway, with various municipal departments involved in this anti-discrimination project. Here you can watch a video of an internal coordination meeting to start the Equality Connected.

The diagnostic phase has already begun, led by UVic-UCC, which will gather what will be the starting point of the intersectionality in the City of Terrassa. Shortly, the collection of international experiences at the local level will also begin. These examples will serve as a reference for other cities and will contribute to the knowledge generation and learning process, which will culminate with a European congress in February 2019.
